My name is Jamie Wells, and I am writing to express my excitement for joining Ethan Allen Elementary, as the new principal. I appreciate the opportunity to introduce myself before the students go to winter break. I have worked in the Garden Grove Unified School District for 20 years and actually started my teaching career as a GATE teacher at Ethan Allen. I spent 12 years at Allen before transitioning to the positions of Teacher on Special Assignment, Coach for new teachers, and then the GATE supervisor for the district. Most recently, I have been the principal at Stanford Elementary. It is with enthusiasm that I bring my professional experience, passion for students and teaching to Ethan Allen Elementary School. View, Appreciate or Reply Our School Ethan B. Allen is one of three GATE sites in GGUSD serving the students from the community and the southern part of the district. Allen is one of the highest performing elementary schools in the county in state rankings. Allen was named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2011 and 2020, and a California Distinguished School in 2004, 2010, 2014, 2018, 2020, and 2023. In addition, Allen has also won the top division of the Orange County Academic Pentathlon for many years. Each spring, Allen produces a musical as part of the Disney Musicals in Schools program. This year we will be presenting Frozen” with over 100 students participating as part of the cast, crew, and artistic staff. Ethan Allen has an active Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) which raises funds to support field trips, Family Nights, our library, and other school improvement projects.
